1. Still sick. Blech. And unlike *some* people, I didn't even have fun getting to this state.
2. Still overwhelmed at work. There's just so much to do, I can't quite get a grip. Plus another person is now on some sort of extended leave, so that leaves just 5 of the 8 regular staff (which includes the 2 managers, who are generally off doing managerial things). Some days, my desk and my computer are just a fond memory.
3. Still in love with The O.C. Between that and Rick Mercer, Monday nights are the best ever (pathetic as that makes me).
4. Still listening to Rufus Wainwright every morning at work. I've stopped even filing it back on the shelf afterward - I just leave it on the desk for the next morning.
5. Still no DVD player. If it ever gets back from the repair shop I'm taking a day off work to watch all those things that I got for Christmas/bought for myself that are still unfinished or in their wrappers (Pirates, Buffy season 5, and unaired episodes of Firefly, I'm looking at you.
6. Still have no life. Obviously. :)

We played a little bit of TV catch-up tonight, watching things that we taped earlier in the week. Most excitingly, we finally found time to watch The O.C. - there is nothing on that show as brilliant as the scenes with Ryan, Seth and Sandy. The three of them together are so very funny. Sadly, we got all excited at the thought of getting a new episode of Gilmore Girls and it was a repeat! Tricksy Global TV. Was it a new episode in the States and are we now just a week behind?
We also saw the first episode of Rick Mercer's new show, Monday Report. I do really love Rick Mercer. He's my snarky pretend comedian boyfriend (with a lovely accent, which is always a bonus). And I love that since it's Canadian, I actually get the political references. I'm definitely going to check it out again. Plus I think we'll try to catch a taping -- they've been promoting them all over the elevators at work.
Oh, and I watched Angel, which was fun. The show's not grabbing me like I had hoped it would this season, but I can't quite give it up. And when they don't try to give every single character a plotline in every episode it works.

Nov. 4th, 2003 10:27 amDude, I love The O.C.. I realize that's not exactly news (nor is it exactly high quality television), but I felt the need to share after last night's cheesily wonderful episode. And my favourite moments are always the scenes with Seth, Ryan, and Sandy together. Romance? Who needs it - just give me the extended Cohen family males being charming doofuses (doofii?).
I'm really loving Alias this season, although ( apparently not enough to actually follow the complicated seekret spy plotlines. )
I'm also completely obsessed with MI-5. Everything is better with an accent, y'know? I spent one Christmas with relatives in England, plus my cousin from Australia was up, and we were watching an Australian soap with my other cousin (British and much younger), who was completely enchanted by the fact that my Australian cousin sounded just like the people on the soap. She had had no idea that real people actually sounded like that.
And, because this entry is apparently all about TV, although that was not my intention when I started writing it, The O.C. starts again tonight, and I am excited. Yup, there's nothing like watching a TV show that is so far removed from my existence it might as well be on another planet. But a planet with Adam Brody.
