BuffyBuffyAngel

I stopped watching Angel a couple of years ago, mostly because it was inconvenient, although I saw an episode here or there. And then I started hearing rumours that there would be some tie-in with Buffy, so I started watching it again. And I'm loving it. (Although I did have to read all the recaps for the last 2 seasons in order to get fully caught up and figure out why Cordelia was suddenly eeevil.)
And here's what I've noticed about Buffy vs. Angel. There's, what 2, maybe 3 episodes of Angel left (we're a week behind)? And yet, last night, whole entire new concepts were brought in, the plot was moved forward, Angel was put in jeopardy, the rest of the MoG was put in jeopardy, all in a way that didn't feel bizarrely sudden or too convenient (at least to me -- hey, I was having fun). On Buffy? Nothing really happened. We saw the evil again, there was dancing, and, oh yeah, Buffy was kicked out. But there was little sense of moving forward, other than the secondary bit with Spike and the mission.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Buffy. I don't much love *Buffy* these days, but that's beside the point. The show has changed drastically since the high school days, but it had to, and that's okay. But I think that there has been too much reliance on one overriding story arc for each season, which has resulted in actionless episodes, and I'm not *too* sad to see the show end. I do hope, though, that Angel is picked up for another season, though, because I think it's really hitting its stride, and I'd love to see where it can go with Joss' undivided attention. And more Gunn. What?
Oh, and we don't get the previews for next week, but I understand that on Buffy it "looks like a lot of sex" and on Angel "people get nekked". Must be sweeps!
