Stupid computer non-help screen

Help!
I have two stupid questions about IE that maybe someone can answer:
1) Is there a way to set it so that the default is that links, when clicked, open in a new window?
2) Is there a way to designate it so that any new windows automatically open up maximized?
I suppose I should be thankful that these are my most pressing problems this morning, but it's irritating me that I can't figure them out myself.

Date: 2004-10-27 06:49 am (UTC)1) Not from within IE. There may be some third-party toolbar or something that offers that option, but I don't know which one (if any). The closest I can find is a setting in Tools > Internet Options > Advanced to force shortcut icons on the desktop open in their own window instead of an existing one (uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"). I usually just right-click and choose "Open in New Window."
2) Not that I can find, in either IE or Windows Explorer. Huh.
