Adrift in a sea of words
May. 23rd, 2004 07:04 pmI am surrounded by books. This is not a bad thing, except that I am not at my own house, but they are all my books, and therefore I'm going to have to drag them home somehow. I have library books, some of which I brought from home and some of which I picked up on the way. I have books that I bought a while ago, which I brought because I thought I didn't have enough library books to last me through the week. I have books that came in the box o' presents that finally arrived from my parents (via Amazon). And now I have books that were purchased today during the shopping trip with
starfishchick (it was supposed to be for summer clothes, but we can't not look at secondhand books, too). Books!
I also have that belated birthday package from my parents, although it's at home, and not here where I can paw through everything delightedly. I love having the Amazon wishlist, because my parents just pick things randomly, usually things that interest them, too. So I ended up with a cookbook for greens, a book by Paul Feig, Eats, Shoots and Leaves, a CD of music by Jason Robert Brown, AbFab series 1-3, the Due South pilot, and something else that I'm forgetting. Not neccessarily the things I would have put at top priority, but I love them even so.
Plus, you know, presents. Always fun.
