Eeeevil electricity elves strike back

If there were any lingering doubts in my mind that the electricity elves are out to get us, they are gone now. Our answering machine apparently stopped working sometime this past week - from the outside it seems like it's still doing its thing, although it cuts off after a couple of seconds, but we can't hear anything other than garbledness, and it's not indicating that we have messages. Hopefully no one called about anything important. Of course, I'm not sure when it happened - no one ever calls me, so it didn't seem odd that there were no messages. :P

My computer's being a twit, too. I think I might need a new battery, because if I unplug it, it only lasts for about 20 minutes before declaring defeat. And last night, everything I did was soooo sloooowwww. I was just trying to open a word document, and it took about 2 minutes. Oh! And, I've started getting these bizarre messages that are sort of pretending that they're IMs, only not really, and this morning vestra got one that made the CD-ROM drive pop open or something.

Plus, because even evil works in threes, the kitchen light is back to the flickering every time I turn it on.

Obviously, I really just need a pet electrician.

Very helpful! They were Windows Messenger, and I wondered about that, tried to figure out what that meant, and ended up logging onto MSN.

Your fake IMs are probably Windows Messenger - like, actual Windows, not MSN, Messenger - which means that mwah mwah security blah blah ask sanity_clause but I think it's not good.
