listersgirl: (books for me)

Okay, the book situation is getting dire! All my library books (which actually aren't that many - I need to find some more things to put on hold) are massive, too massive to carry around. Since we moved to this apartment I've re-read nearly everything I own (except for the massive ones), and practically everything [livejournal.com profile] sarcasma owns. I need books to carry around with me! I don't like this one bit.

Buy a Kindle? :)
(I know, the disadvantage being you actually have to BUY the books which is kind of sucky. I just want someone I know to have one so I can play with it!)

They are beautiful - but they don't work in Canada! (You need to have a US credit card to buy content, or something wonky like that.)

You need to read the Robert Rankin books - full of the fantastic victoriana, set in archives and libraries and art galleries, and hilarious, too.

And available in highly portable paperbacks, for your toting pleasure.

These are the smartest books I've read in a long, long time. And laugh out loud funny to boot.

Also, audiobooks. On my Ipod. From Audible.
If I had a non-ipod player, I could get free audiobooks from my public library, but ohwell.
