Today, because I am a woman of many talents, I managed to get a pretty serious sunburn, despite the fact that it was less than 10C outside and there is still snow on the ground. Clearly I should not leave the house unless draped in a sheet like a Hallowe'en ghost.

Other things:

1. Spring is here! Okay, so this is a somewhat anticlimactic statement after my sunburn announcement, but still: SPRING. We walked like crazy this weekend, and it was glorious.

2. Did you guys know about this, that MIT puts all their course materials etc. online for anyone to use? I've been exploring. It's very fun.

3. My internet connection is so slow these days. I have no idea why this is.

4. I went to a belly dance show on Friday, and I think I may have talked myself into starting classes again. If so, hooray for me.

5. I wasn't on the computer at all this weekend, except to quickly check a few things, and I'm sad to say that it's clearly much better for me to stay away - my jaw and neck and elbow hurt less, and I didn't get any headaches. I think I might have to try and stay away more often, lonely as that will be.

6. I went to a pub last night that had 35 types of burgers (or burger topping combinations, technically, since you could have them with any variety of burger), all with fun names. Also, sweet potato fries. I want to go back.

7. I had pretty much decided that I'm ready to move (ideally to somewhere with a balcony, a kitchen-sized kitchen, and a bathtub that drains), and then I wandered through rental listings and now I want to cry because there is nothing.

8. Torchwood made me cry.

1. I'm cautiously optimistic about spring making its way here as well. At least a few flowers have started to make their appearance, so that's a start.

2. Check out the Royal Family course, I really wanted to take that in college (we had an exchange program with MIT) but the professor became head of the department and didn't offer it again until after I graduated.

6. If you ever come here to visit, I will take you to Bartley's. Best burgers ever. And milkshakes. And sweet potato fries, even.

Anyone who didn't cry at Torchwood is heartless.

2. They had a kick-ass class on Hamlet a few years ago. It had podcasts that went with it, too.

6. You're making me want sweet potato fries for breakfast! You should come visit me - there's a hamburger joint that's been here for donkey's years that has all sorts of crazy toppings, and they do them on top of veggie burgers, too. And they have mustard fries, which are more delicious and evil and addictive than any food should be.

8. We're still 2 episodes behind here, and I keep hearing that the last Torchwood is sad. Why? Tell me? No, wait, don't tell me. Tell me? Gah.

Torchwood was sad, I kept pathetically hoping for a reversal in the last minute.

Yay for bellydance classes. I'm thinking of starting up again too, although back at the beginning. Mostly because I was co-erced into buying a belly-dancing outfit in Egypt.

Re the bathtub, I take it you have thrown some Mr Plumber down it, right? I know it's environmentally horrible but sometimes you have to.

Ooh, what's the burger place? Sounds like something SFD would want to know about!

I've passed that place a bunch of times and always look at it :) So they've got a good veggie burger? I don't suppose they have non-white bread buns? (I asked a hot dog vendor the other day if he had whole wheat and he looked at me like I was retarded...which I was, but I figured it was worth a shot).

I've recently felt like I let myself down by not challenging myself enough in choices of college and degrees - so this MIT thing is so great! Thanks for sharing!

I am behind on Torchwood! But that's my own fault, and I really should watch it before I get myself spoiled.

How's your sunburn? I hope it's calmed down by now.

Yay for the idea of belly dance classes again! I hope you do.
