I have, however, reserved the Coupland as my next carry-around book, by virtue of it a) coming in second, and b) being light. So there you go.

*Despite the fact that apparently I can't spell "dilemma". I always thought it was "dilemna"! My illusions have been shattered.

Hmm. Maybe we should have specified the PAPERBACK Omnivore's Dilemma. The hardcover is heavy and impossible.

I heard an interesting interview with Copeland the other day on CBC radio, which left me somewhat intrigued about his book. (That said, I didn't enjoy Microserfs as much as, well, everybody, so I might not bother with The Gum Thief...)

I'm very up and down with him - but I loved jPod, and I'm looking forward to the adaptation on CBC. (Which I think has already started, but tv and I have a very hands off relationship these days.)

I loved Micorserfs but for some reason can't seem to get on board with JPod. I've tried and failed at reading it twice now. I'll give it another shot eventually -- I'm a big Coupland fan.

It seems, according to discussion on a forum I found, to be very widespread. A small but significant minority of people all over the English speaking world seem to have been taught the incorrect spelling:

It was spelled dilemna in the title of a story in our reader at school when I was in third grade. Yes, I'm certain.

Same exact issue. Was convinced of the n spelling since childhood. Have secretly been wondering if it's spelled that way in some other country for quite a while.

And I, too, discovered the correct spelling in relation to Pollan's book - I think when I was googling to try to rediscover the author's name. I'm just not usually wrong on spelling issues, so it threw me.
