I am extremely full of Indian food. Oof. I can't even move. I was thinking of taking a nap, but that's rather silly, given what time it is, so I'm just going to sit here being full and contemplating the end of the weekend.

You know what I'd like? If I got a phone call saying tomorrow was cancelled. It's not that I don't want to go to work -- it's more that there's other things I'd like to do. I have to find a way to do some of these things during the week so that I'm not trying to squish everything into the weekend.

I don't know if it's that the summer was a little cooler than the last couple of years, or if I just made my peace with being hot and sweaty, but I've been having a wonderful summer, emphasis on summer. I've actually been spending time outside, doing summery things. There hasn't been nearly as much hanging out on patios as I'd like, but that can keep going right through September. In any case, other than the fact that I keep burning my scalp, summer hasn't been nearly as traumatic as other years. It's nice.

Well, it's definitely cooler TODAY. Overall I don't think it's been cooler, just... weirder. It's been all "heat wave... cool wave! heat wave... cool wave!" out there.

You need a fetching sunhat, summer-fun lady!

I have a hat, but it gives me hat-head. Also I can't hear very well. :) I did eventually put it on, but I think the sun got me while I wasn't paying attention.

The sun is sneaky like that. I got through Wonderland, two trips to a beach, and various other summer outings only getting a touch of sun. Then one day at the CNE, forgetting to sunscreen (and us being fooled by the cooler temperature) and I have the *stupidest* burn. Sadly the top I was wearing wasn't as low-cut as some others, so I have a lame tan (er..burn) line across my chest. Also my shoulders, with a thin line where my spaghetti strap was on one side, and a much thicker line from my purse straps on the other. And, also my back...except for where my two braids were hanging down. I look like a retard. But I am...I am a retard who forgot to put on sunscreen.

I always have a white diagonal stripe across my chest, all summer, from getting burned around my bag. It's very classy.

There must be something in the air this year. Sam and I were talking recently about how we've both had possibly the best summers of our lives. I think I've also come to terms with heat, because though it was definitely hot in my apartment...I did okay. And like you, lots of outdoorsy, summery happenings. But why no patios, lady? There's still time!

I know what you mean, about managing to distribute things between the weekend and weekdays, though I think I'm the opposite way round! I've tended to try to fit all the chores and necessary things at the weekends, to leave weekday evenings free for either doing things or collapsing, but that means that I have trouble doing the chores if I'm away or out at a weekend.

I don't suppose that today *was* cancelled, was it? I hope it wasn't too bad, anyway.
