Aaaaand it's time for another round of "listersgirl is left whimpering and confused by modern methods of communication". In today's episode, I am thrown by all the millions of ways that I could convey a random piece of information! I am paralyzed by choice, and decide that it's really just Not That Important and do nothing!

But seriously, way too many ways to tell people things these days: email, LJ post, LJ comment, Facebook wall post, Facebook message, Facebook status, text message, instant messenger, gchat. And that's without actually *talking* to anyone, and only including those things I actually do. CANNOT COPE. BRINGING BACK THE CARRIER PIGEON.

(Also, somewhat unrelatedly, Facebook poking made a surprise resurgence today from a number of different quarters, and I am still completely confused. Also, why is it always men who start? Regression to elementary school or subconscious sexual symbolism?)

Don't worry -- any random information that finds its way to facebook also ends up here. It's more that sometimes I start to email someone about something, and then decide to lj it, and then change my mind and IM someone else, and...

I don't *think* I've had any men poke me on Facebook, but then I only have 2-3 male friends on there, anyway, so maybe I can't draw any very valid conclusions from that.

I know what you mean about the variety! At one point, I got myself a Twitter account as well. But, after I found myself wondering whether something was more a Twitter update or a Facebook status, I decided it really was one too many.

I thought that, if I had a go, it might make more sense, but it didn't. And I only knew about three people on there, anyway - all of whom are also everywhere else....

I think that's why I want to imagine that there's a difference between the different channels, rather than admit that it's all just random splurging.
