I bought a skirt yesterday -- bright kelly green, knee length, a-line, cord -- and when I went to get dressed this morning, I discovered that it doesn't go with anything I own. And this is from someone who likes dramatically contrasting colours. I found one purple shirt that looked pretty good, but was way too short (like all my shirts these days -- what happened?). I finally grabbed a black shirt that at least wasn't entirely too wrong...except that it's too short, too. I'm fine as long as I stand still, but moving is rather precarious. Also, just now I got yogurt on it.

Sigh.

(The reason I was shopping yesterday was because I needed underwear. Because I have none that's clean. And every time I attempt to do laundry the machines are busy. YARRRGH.)

(Completely off topic: Yesterday my co-worker treated us to a stirring rendition of the first telephone call ("Mr. Watson, come here; I want you!") and then declared that Bell and Watson were totally sleeping together. And probably in a threesome with Fessenden. He's definitely a secret slasher.)

Oh, how sad! I also couldn't believe you have nothing to go with a bright green skirt, but when you got into the ballet of the too-short shirts I realized I've totally been there. In FACT I was there just last night. :p

I feel like I should rearrange every thing by length of shirt, so that I don't go through this EVERY MORNING.

That's not a bad plan! Because I tend to think about other shirt attributes before length: colour, fabric, neckline, stuff like that. It's only when I put them on that I notice length. If you had a special pile of "long enough to wear with low-rise stuff" shirts you'd be much happier!

You need a lovely white or cream sweater. Also something turqoise. Brown is usually also nice with kelly green.

I want to go shopping. Preferably with someone else's money. And in nice stores. Perhaps with Stacey and Clinton. Or someone who knows what they're doing and who can also look at my figure objectively.

I'm definitely better at figuring out how other people look than how I look. Or, at least, I'm terrible at looking at things on the rack and having any idea how they'll look on me.

White and turquoise are never seen near me, but at least one of my various browns should work. Hmm.

Can I just have someone do my shopping for me? I like the results, but always get bogged down in the process.
