Today, I have become close and intimate friends with the meeting room. I'm just saying. The sad thing is that I'm actually actively excited that our meetings tomorrow are in a different room. I think it might even have a view! Shhhh don't tell.
ANYWAY.
It's the end of the month, which means it's time for a hastily scribbled TEA ROUND-UP. (Those of you in the sweltering heat, pretend I said "iced tea round-up", ok? Good.)
So, please, tell me if you haven't received your tea for April/May (meaning, tea in the last 6 weeks or so). Let me know if you want to drop out, or if you want to join us (the poll for addresses etc. is here). Address changed? Tell me that. If the guilt finally got to you and you juuuust sent your tea, feel free to tell me that too, if you like, so that I don't come tracking you down. Because I will. (Just not right this minute, because I'm running off to another quick meeting (lord save us all)). Or e-mail me with any of these things, if you prefer, at listersgirl[at]gmail[dot]com.
And tomorrow it's June! And the 1 year anniversary of the tea exchange!
*throws party*
I'll try to get new names out to you all over the weekend, ok?
Meanwhile, I am the proud owner of a list of all my teas, with room for comments. Shut up. And I've made 4 different kinds of iced tea in the past 1 1/2 weeks (last night's, which I haven't tried yet, was Japanese Sour Cherry green tea from Silk Road). Mmmm, tea.
Ok, running. Hope you all are having lovely days! Someone would tell me if we'd been invaded by aliens or it had become perpetual night, right?

Date: 2006-06-13 07:03 pm (UTC)Thank-you so much for tea all the way from India. Very impressive! I have an ignorance-based question. When I made the tea in a pot on the stove it smelled delicious and when I added a drop of honey it, in fact, tasted delicious. But what's with all the bits? This has happened to me before with tea from India and I don't know how to deal with the bits. Do I drink them? Do I let them settle at the bottom of the cup and then just leave them? Do I need some sort of device? Help!
Also, are you guys going to Clinton? I'm trying to gauge just exactly how much fun I will be having. ;)

Date: 2006-06-13 07:56 pm (UTC)Generally, other people made tea for us in India, so I'm not sure how it worked! I let the tea settle, and pour the bottom through a sieve. I'm glad you like it! I bought it in a little town in the Ghats, the major mountain range seperating Kerala and Tamil Nadu in south India. We drove through the high-elevation tea plantations, and smelled the fresh green tea growing there. The tea masala was blended by the family we bought it from.. they buy the spices in an auction in town.
