More Fringe stuff:
I saw two more good shows. I tell you, I seem to have a sixth sense about what will be good this year. Of course, it helps that I didn't start fringing until partway through the week, when some reviews had been posted, but still.
One Man 80's Blank Tape: It's one frantic guy, basically being a tape lost in the 80's, with bits of Close Encounters, Princess Bride, Breakfast Club, TV shows, bad commercials (that I remembered very clearly, sadly) and TV promos. Very funny, assuming you lived through the 80's. His version of the final dance from Dirty Dancing (playing both parts) was highly entertaining.
Tyrannous Rex: Utterly brilliant. The story of a stodgy couple on the Scottish moors who get tricked into taking a young girl into their home, it's darkly funny and nearly gothic. All the parts are played by Nicola Gunn, who evokes an entire character with just one movement, and who switches back and forth without losing a beat. Plus there's a black panther who rides a bicycle!
