Hahahaha! I'm such a big liar. I'm not wearing Bastet today, I'm wearing Bengal:

A sultry and unruly blend that emulates the ambient scent of the markets in ancient Bengal: skin musk with honey, peppers, clove, cinnamon bark and ginger.

And there's the cinnamon that made me red and welty. This ingredient list makes much more sense -- these are all scents I love, so it's no wonder I'm enjoying it so much.

[ps. [livejournal.com profile] eanja, I got your package yesterday -- thanks! It turns out that it was one that someone else had ordered, and I tried it on Saturday and liked it, so that worked out well. :)]

I really want that scent, but I'm also scared I'd spend an awful lot of time trying to put in on my cats, just to see what happened. I don't think that's why the lab named it Bengal, I'm guessing.

Weirdly enough, Celestial seasons does a tea that has cloves, cinnamon and ginger (if you mix it w/ a regular tea bag it closely approximates Chai tea) that they call Bengal spice. I'm guessing it's to do with the region of India, though I don't really know enough to know if those spices are notably grown there rather than elsewhere, or what.

I <3 Bengal. Almost enough to actually order a 5 mL, which I rarely do for catalog scents. Although sometimes I get welts, but not always. Can't figure out what makes the difference. But I do adore it.

The cinnamom makes the reaction make more sense to me as well if it's Bengal you're wearing. I sometimes get a reaction to Sin, which has cinnamon in it- not always, and only on the inside of my elbows. I think it has to do with wearing it too long without a break in between. But it's not bad enough to put me off the smell.

I'm glad the Perversion works for you - on me it's just straight cocoanut, and none of the intriguing sounding stuff.

You realize I'm going to be wanting to put another order in by the time you get done posting reviews, don't you?
