listersgirl: (i don't care much)

In case there was any doubt, [livejournal.com profile] emiline's kitty is adorable. I love playful cats. My cats always seem to take after me in preferring to lie around and not actually move, except for food.

My power went out a little while ago. The best part was that I had just hit a spot in my book where the power went out. Look, I can make things happen with my brain! The worst part is that I was just about to make lunch, and I discovered that I didn't have any food that didn't require cooking(except the last of the bread, but we've already discussed the fact that I have nothing to put on it). So I left to go find myself some lunch. I noticed as I was leaving that our front door lock doesn't work when the power's out -- it's one of those ones where you turn a key in order to activate the door buzzer and allow you to open the door. I don't know if this means that you can't unlock the door from the outside or that the door is left unlocked. I didn't want to test my theory and get locked out, so I propped the door open. I hope we don't have another big power outage here, though, because I don't particularly want to get locked out of my apartment. At least my phone is on a different system.

When I came back I discovered that my EW Fall TV Preview issue had arrived. YAY! I know it's a little loserish of me, but I love the start of the new TV season, and I especially love TV preview issues of magazines. Sometimes I think it's more fun to read about TV than to actually watch it. In any case, the first article was about Lost, and I can't wait for the new season. Hurray

Ok, back to the phones for me. I called all the Toronto people yesterday, and today I have to start with the rest of Canada. La la la I hate the phone. You know, there really should be an option to go directly to people's voice mail. I don't really actually need to talk to anyone.

You can always try going into your voicemail (provided you have it) and pressing "2" to send a message (if I recall correctly... it has been a while). They'll charge you for each message ($1 or thereabouts, I'm guessing) but at least you don't have to talk to anyone.

The full details are in the front of the White Pages, which I am simply too lazy to look at right now. :)

That's just a small detail... They're going to have to reimburse you for the long-distance, aren't they? Will they actually be wanting a copy of your records?

oi, oi, oi!

after a hellishly tiring week of work, a bad back, and the heartbreaking developments in the gulf, i opened my mailboz yesterday to discover a cute little package filled with yummy (yummy) tea! it made my week, it did.

the return package is almost ready to go - i have only to find my old favorite cherry ginger tea from across town. be checking the post!

thanks!

Finally, an obvious headline that still manages to draw me in!

I'm glad you thought she was adorable.

I, too, wish there was a sneaky way to go straight to voicemail on the phone. I'd be a happy camper.

Oh, right. I forgot: was the power out for long? My clock made it look like it was out for about an hour. That's too funny that it went out just as you were reading about a power outage.
