BPAL, part 3

So now it comes down to what to get in the next order. And because I haven't bored you enough with the strike talk, you get to experience my indecision.
These ones I haven't tried at all, but they sound very appealing:
Al-Shairan - clove, peach and orange with cinnamon, patchouli and dark incense notes.
Baghdad - Amber, saffron and bergamot with mandarin, nutmeg, Bulgar rose, musk and sandalwood.
Bengal - musk with honey, peppers, clove, cinnamon bark and ginger.
Black Pearl - Coconut, Florentine iris, hazelnut and opalescent white musk.
Centzon Totochtin - Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent
of sacrificial blood.
Cerberus - deep chocolate, deeper musks, with a dash of fig, bittersweet walnut, and the
wild essences of juniper berry, cubeb and rum.
Eden - fig leaf, fig fruit, honeyed almond milk, toasted coconut and sandalwood.
Elegba - His ofrenda contains coconut, tobacco and sweet, sugared rum.
Eris - A suitably disjointed scent, bursting with gleeful mayhem: wet fruits and sharp mimosa with Martial spices and a deceptive flash of floral.
Grog - Arrr! Avast ye, matey! This be the scent of pirate rum!
Loralei - Neroli, sandalwood, ylang ylang.
Lust - Uncontrollable passion and insatiable sexual desire: red musk, patchouli,
ylang ylang and myrrh.
Shattered - A blend of white champagne notes, grapefruit, lotus, slivered mint and
crystalline aquatic blooms.
Sin - Thouroughly corrupted: amber, sandalwood, black patchouli and cinnamon.
Succubus - Mimosa, orange blossom, neroli and bergamot with a drop of sweet clove.
Tempest - The scent of the first gentle rain before the storm.
Tezcatlipoca - Deep cocoa laced with patchouli, leather armor, ritual incense, and a touch
of Xochiquetzal’s flowers.
Vinland - Crisp northern wind blowing over loganberry, wild roses, prairie crocus, iris
versicolor Linné, mountain avens, yellow birch bark, mayflower and maple leaf.
Voodoo - A deep, powerful, resonant blend of myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, lime, vanilla,
pine, almond and clove.
These ones I have smelled when other people ordered them, and liked them, although I haven't tried them all on me:
Enbalming Fluid - A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon.
Jester - Huckleberry and red currant with the incisive bite of neroli.
Old Shanghai - The crisp, clean scent of green tea touched with lemon verbena and
honeysuckle.
Seraglio - Sweet almond and Mysor sandalwood enveloped by a heady veil of Bulgarian
Rose, neroli, nutmeg, clove and orange peel.
Severin - Dry black teas, Earl Gray, and leather.
Sudha Segara - Sweet milk and warm, healing ginger with a touch of golden honey and
our blend of Ambrosia.
Szepasszony - A chilly, tempestuous whirlwind of clear, airy notes, slashing rain, and a thin undercurrent of white flowers.
Tamora - Amber, heliotrope, golden sandalwood, peach blossom and vanilla bean.
Titania - A nocturnal bounty of fae dew-kissed petals and pale fruits: white grape, white peach, iced pear, musk rose, sweet pea, moonflower and snapdragon.
Wanda - Her scent is a deep red merlot with a faint hint of leather, sexual musk and
body heat over crushed roses, violets and myrtle.
I'm leaning toward Al-Shairan (peach! clove!), Cerberus (chocolate! fig!), and at least one of the coconut ones, probably Black Pearl, because I am deep in coconut love right now. And once again it becomes completely clear that I am attracted to food scents. I haven't totally decided, yet, plus I will get at least a 6-pack of imps, so I have a few more spaces to fill.
I know, I shouldn't be spending ANY money right now, but it's really not much, and I had already decided to do this before the lockout, and, and. I'll probably feel guilty for days, but at least I'll smell fabulous at the time.

Date: 2005-08-22 05:07 pm (UTC)Centzon Totochtin is amazing. Chocolate and red wine.
Eden is also amazing, but more green smelling than the description indicates.

Date: 2005-08-22 05:16 pm (UTC)I think Centzon Totochtin is going on the list. :)
Damn...
Date: 2005-08-22 05:25 pm (UTC)Also - I can give you my Seraglio from last time, because the sandlewood and cloves together make me crazy (not a fan of cloves at all)
Re: Damn...
Date: 2005-08-22 05:30 pm (UTC)Please!
Date: 2005-08-22 05:43 pm (UTC)I might just order Black Pearl anyway, and then we can both try it and see what we think.

Date: 2005-08-22 05:29 pm (UTC)I have a 5ml of Cerberus I was going to put up for sale/trade if you're interested, I like it but I don't wear it often at all.

Date: 2005-08-22 05:50 pm (UTC)Sin is also lovely- I liked it enough that I ordered a bottle of it. Sadly, though, the batch that came in the bottle does not seem to smell as good as the batch in my imp from a year ago (more musky and slightly bitter, not warm and cinammony like the imp). So it might not be one you want to order just at the moment.
Embalming fluid smells extremely like Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea - I like it.
Titania I've tried when my roommate had it - it's a rather crisp, nice floral, but since I don't much care for florals, it didn't do much for me.
Are some of those very top ones new? I just got my order from June, and seemed like they posted some new and intriguing things shortly after I ordered.
I may have some imps up for grabs at some point, but not until after Firth and Mirth- I might as well let anyone interested smell them, though since you can't come, I can let you know what I can spare and see what you'd like. I still trying to decide what to part with anyway at this point. The only one on your list, though, is the Embalming Fluid, as I got an extra imp of it. But I like it well enough that I'm not sure I don't want to hang on to it- I'm in the midst of seeing how it compares to some of the other tea-based scents.

Date: 2005-08-22 06:25 pm (UTC)And a few of the things on my list are from the last two updates. They're always coming out with new, wonderful sounding scents. Evil!

Date: 2005-08-22 08:40 pm (UTC)Is Cerebus one of the new ones? Because it sounds really neat, and I'm becoming quite pleased with the notion of chocolate scents as a whole.

Date: 2005-08-22 11:00 pm (UTC)Oh, durr, it was a limited edition scent. This is what I get for writing things down carefully instead of looking at the actual site again.

Date: 2005-08-23 01:41 am (UTC)I have a whole batch of mens scents waiting for a friend to come and visit (they're part of his birthday present). I'd have been leery about ordering them for myself, but my inner 13-year-old is really glad of an excuse to find out what Golden Priapus smells like.

Date: 2005-08-23 06:33 pm (UTC)I've always tried to imagine what you'd say if you were wearing this and someone asked what it was. Then again, to most people, you could probably just give the name and they'd just wonder what it meant.

Date: 2005-08-22 07:16 pm (UTC)For some reason I thought I liked the imp enough, but once I got the bottle I think I'd already fallen harder for other scents so it doesn't really make the cut of those I need a 5ml of.
I think it's too chocolate or something for me.
