Okay, FOR REAL, was there some sort of "Give Torontonians a free iPod!" day that I missed out on? Because yesterday a good three-quarters of the people on the subway in the morning, on the streets after work, and on the subway back home had the telltale Steal Me white earbud look going on. Why all of the sudden? Where did they all come from? WHY DON'T I GET ONE TOOOOOOOO?

I mean, really, if someone's handing out iPods, sign me up. Just because I can't afford to buy one for myself doesn't mean that I'm disdaining their very existence.

And in non-iPod related news, it's [livejournal.com profile] bextera's birthday! Have a wonderful day! I hope you get many presents and tasty, tasty cake.

I have to admit that I've become a major iPod flunkie! My family chipped in and gave me one for my birthday last year and I'm never without it. It's sleek whiteness and crazy amounts of memory has completely seduced me!

Free iPods for all, I say!

There have been quite a few Win An iPod contests of late, mostly from Pepsi (Win One An Hour!). I valiantly tried, but in the end, Gmajorette just bought me one for Valentine's Day.

I bought a second set of headphones especially for reducing the Steal Me factor, and they have a volume control on them so I don't have to do the "nipple nipple, tweak tweak" maneuvre or actually bring it out into the open. I keep it in a pocket where I can feel it against my skin at all times, so I always know where it is. I'm less paranoid about losing my wallet these days.

And yes, now that I have one, I wonder what I ever did without one.

The iPod Mini's are a little more affordable, and come in pretty colours. I needed the big honkin 40GB version so that I could store my entire CD collection in it and take it with me wherever, whenever. And the best part? Since I use it at work, I can use it as an income tax deduction next year.

The iPod Shuffle is much smaller in size, and doesn't have many of the same features, but if you just want a bunch of your favourite tunes on the go, it's a bargain.

And no, I don't work for Apple, even though I sound like a pitchman for them.

I love my iPod. I'd marry it and have it's shiny blue children if I could.

I hope you get one soon...then I can send you music!!!

I love my iPod, but I am sneaky and use my black headphones. This likely dissuades thievery and often coordinates better with my clothes.

I am enjoying my teeny iPod shuffle. It holds about 140 songs, which is plenty for any random time I'm going to be using it. And refilling it with new songs from my iTunes takes about 5 minutes.

And it's teeny! I've just been told there are covers available in fun colours, which I now must have.

Could they turn that into Give Bostonians a free iPod day? Because I would really like one myself. I'd like to be able to listen to all of (all legal, of course ;) downloaded music somewhere other than at my computer.

And I would wear my black headphones too, but mainly becuase I can't wear those earbuds--my ears are the wrong shape!
