Happy belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] montykins! I hope it was fun.

My pants are falling down.

Normally this would lead to grand excitement and celebration because I would have miraculously lost hated inches from my hips, but sadly this time all it means is that they have stretched out from being worn too many times and are therefore really overdue to be washed. Aren't you glad you're on the other side of the subway station/city/country/border/continent?

Inspired by [livejournal.com profile] sarcasma's new All Tea, All The Time journal, I think we should do a tea exchange! Oh, you know you want to.

Here's the plan. Sign up, and you'll be given a name each month to send tea to. I'm thinking 2 boxes, or the equivalent in random tea bags or loose tea (preferably in a container, of course). Whatever tea you like - it doesn't have to be gourmet, or local, or hard to get, just your favourite tea that you'd like to share with others. Herbal, black, green -- whatever strikes your fancy. And then hopefully after you've received your tea package for the month you'll tell us about it!

One caveat: this is international, so you have to be willing to mail worldwide. And, you know, give up your address. But in exchange you get TEA! :D

[Poll #490467]

If you know people who love tea, too, feel free to send them over here, or collect your own names for the tea exchange and pass them on to me. Tea for all!

I think this is a wonderful idea. I have so much tea that I can send out-Bengali Spice, green tea, assorted Twining's tea. and, of course, new tea is good as well. :)

Everyone loves tea. Last week one of my neighbors knocked on the door asking to borrow a teabag and a cigarette. Because nothing finshes off a hit of deadly chemical smoke quite like peppermint tea.

Are we (Canadians, that is) allowed to send tea to the US? I thought there was some rule about us being a threat to national security and so on. :|

It *should* be okay, but I guess people sending between the US and Canada will just have to accept that there's a possibility some customs/security person will steal their tea. There are problems going both ways -- I recall the Year of Waiting for Shower Gel I Ordered Online with terror.

Just being an uptight worrywart, as usual. Don't mind me.

[livejournal.com profile] starfishchick, how many times do I have to tell you to stop putting illicit substances in your tea? Tea is not a place for crack, or weapons of mass destruction, or Rocketstm. ;)

P.S. Dear, American spy agencies, this comment was a joke. SFC is not and has never been involved with crack or weapons of mass destruction. She does like Rockets though.

Well, those WOMD are somewhere ... why not in tea?

And Rockets OMG yay.

Can I sign up later? After I've moved? We're now approaching the time period in which it is not wise to send international packages to me, because they might arrive after I move.

But I really want to participate. Because, mmmmmmmmmmm.

Any excuse for me to expand my tea horizons is a good excuse. :)

I'll think about it. I'll let you know that I've filled out the poll if I decide to participate.

Yay, tea! I'll have to wait until I actually have an address. If it's still going on then, I'll for sure sign up-everyone needs more tea!

Cool!

I am going to come back and do the poll, since I am moving in September and I'm not totally clear on what my new address will be. But once I know, you'll know.

And I am emailable at [myusername, with an underscore and 3 r's]at yahoo dot ca.
