In order to stop myself from whining about the snow YET AGAIN, I present a list of things which are of the good:

1. Four day weekend!

2. Which means this is technically Friday. Woo.

3. Craft fair with [livejournal.com profile] idella and [livejournal.com profile] starfishchick on Saturday.

4. Lunch with [livejournal.com profile] sarcasma today.

5. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead on DVD.

6. I broke down and bought Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell because it's too damn big and I had to keep returning it to the library, so I can start that this weekend.

7. hamstrings that no longer hurt.

8. One Man Lord of the Rings is coming back to town! (Sadly, not at Fringe prices, but still.)

9. I cleared one of the many piles off my desk.

10. I bought shelving for the bathroom, which is slowly getting put together, and once it's finished, I can get everything off the bathroom floor.

11. Which means I won't have to lean at a 45 degree angle to get at the mirror.

12. Which means I will stop poking myself with the mascara brush.

13.The broccoli, bok choy, red pepper and tofu stir-fry I made for dinner last night.

What's good with you all?

Spring is here, I have a two week holiday, and I am eating a mushroom, greens and sprouts stir fry. Also, I have a new job, so it is very, very good.

I so want to see One Man Lord of the Rings.

Thank you! I am a bit over the top today, but sometimes you just have to go with it.

Nothing exciting to report, unfortunately.

But it's a three-day weekend, so it's all good.

Books-always books. I'm currently reading 1968: The Year That Rocked the World by Mark Kurlansky.

Chicken Lo Mein.

Good with me

Three day weekend coming.

Watched preview for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants on Quicktime. So cute!

Easter = decorating eggs, which I love. I wonder why I have never thought until this moment to do it for any other reason.

I don't have anything to do tonight. I'm going to visit my family this weekend. I met a cool person last night. I have Runts, and I also have the Postal Service and Ani Difranco.

Oh! And I just finished catching up binding in the whole reading room! I have, over the past week and a half, handled every single journal out there and now what can be bound is bound!

Well, it's finished for some value of finished. I need to go through now and deal with all of the things that are missing issues and, you know, actually bind regularly so it doesn't get behind like that again.

Yummy Cobb salad at the Senator Diner with work team. Did I mention it was free? I like free lunch. A lot.

The 3 day weekend I've been pining for, although in my case I'm working all three days, just not at a desk...

The Way The Crow Flies is rocking my world. Also picked up The Devil Wears Prada for fun reading. Will probably finish both this weekend.

That's pretty much it...oh yeah, not stressing about upcoming audition or lack of contract offer from opera company. I'm just not going to let it bother me.

3) LONG WEEKEND!!!
4) Gorgeous weather
5) Things starting to bloom
6) Going to the RenFaire with a friend, who happens to be male
7) Books and music and ballet. Oh, yay!

Well, right now it's only admitting it to ME, not to the world at large. But that should happen next week. At which point maybe I can, you know, look for college-graduate jobs.

This sounds delicious!

6. I broke down and bought Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell because it's too damn big and I had to keep returning it to the library, so I can start that this weekend.

I may do this, too, since I'm going to be spending a lot of time sitting in airports over the next few weeks, and I've heard good things about the book.

What's good with you all?

I'll be in a legal team's focus group tonight for four hours. They'll give me $100 and dinner in return for giving them my opinion on a case they're taking to court. Heck, usually I can't give my opinion away for free, so this'll be fun.

I agree. I'm finishing Neal Stephenson's trilogy right now... 3 hardcover 800+ page books are painful on the wrists, arms, etc. :(

Oof. Don't remind me. I almost stopped reading, it was such a nuisance (especially since I usually just carry my laptop bag around with me: no room for a huge-ass book in there).

It's got to the point where I have an LCBO bag (those things are tough!) that I use to lug big books around with me. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is next on my reading list. (We saw Clarke give a reading at the festival of authors this year! :D)

four day weekend. Woohoo I'm a lazy pampered civil servant type provincial employee with a four day weekend for no reason.

Dinner party for the inlaws (possibly) and for friends (definately) - I will make a traditional roast beef dinner with traditional fixins and now that the word is out, everybody I work with is trying to wrangle an invitation but they are NOT COOL ENOUGH aahahahahahaha

re-reading Nickel and Dimed at the ref desk last night - read it, it's SOOOOOO good.

Lost 4 lbs already - then my boss took me out for lunch yesterday (goodthing) but everything on the menu was deep fried goodness (good thing) and I had fish and chips (good thing) and I will probably gain 4lbs from those finch and chimps (bad things).

Other boss gave us all Bernard Callebaut chocolate easter eggs filled wtih truffles (yay) and I ate mine (bad).

Newest Poppy Brite book is out - haven't bought it yet, but it exists! in the world! and I am muchly looking forward to it. Nifty thing, I reread the second on in that series last night and my boy found it on the couch and is now also reading it (he's dissapointed that the characters are gay. I said "she's a gay writer", and he said "i know, but it doesn't add much" and I said, "that's why she's so cool, it doesn't dominate the story. it's just a fact of their lives.")

George RR martin new book is supposed to have a release date again. Preordered it, and the new harry potter, and the Food Processor bible new edtion - yay books yay!

Sucks so hard - I've been losing and gaining the same four pounds for about 8 months now.

argh.

It's a good thing we're both cute and sexy the way we are, eh?
