I spent last night taking all the books (and cards, and tchotchkes) off my bookcases, moving the bookcases, and putting the books back on. Although not in order, and not even standing upright, because it was late and I was tired. I had to put the books back on the shelves, though, so that they weren't on the floor anymore and I could clear a path for...THE COUCH.

Yes, that's right, I finally bought a damn couch. It's being delivered tonight (did you know that IKEA only does next day delivery? I certainly didn't), so I needed to move the bookcases, because the couch is going where the bookcases are (or were). But anyway, after tonight I will have a couch, and also a new set of shelves for all my board games, because they were getting tired of still being in boxes. And I bought a new shower curtain. But that's not particularly exciting.

Who was it who fed me those chocolaty Hobnobs the other day? Because I have been craving them ever since, and I have not found them.

So. Couch is assembled, cover is put on. It was all far more complicated than I expected, or at least more awkward, what with having to move the couch around a bunch. Still, I am now sitting on it, so it's all fine in the end. Also complicated was finding a place to put the enormous chair, but I've decided that middle of the room is just fine, thank you. I had a moment of panic when I thought the computer cord wouldn't reach to the couch and I'd have to buy a new battery after all, but it's all good. I need more cushions, though.

Also, the dishes are done, one bookcase is restored to order, and the shower curtain is up. It's amazing how much I can get done if I don't sit down when I get home from work.

And now, I'm attempting to convince myself to put the bookshelf together, and also possibly take the massive amounts of cardboard out to the recycling bin. People appear to be coming over on Saturday, and it would be nice if they could get in the door. Also, I'm not sure that "barricaded by cardboard oh no!" is a good enough reason to miss work, although I've heard worse, sadly. Hmm, if I take the cardboard out, I'll be very close to the store. Maybe it's time for snacks.
