Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] laurel! Have a fantastic day.

Since [livejournal.com profile] vestra has gone off to Cobourg for the summer, I was fringing alone yesterday. I almost went home, too, after getting downtown, because when I got off the subway I was in the middle of a huge thunderstorm. Walking around lightening does not make me happy. Luckily, the whole thing ended a half hour after it started, so I could head off to my show.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention! At the second show, they sang a song about TJ! They were doing a bit about press releases, talking about how there's one sure way to get attention for your Fringe show, and that's to mention the magic words "TJ Dawe". And then they sang a song about him. Hee.

That's it for the moment. I should have time for a couple more shows next weekend after I send my parents off, assuming everything isn't sold out. Still, I managed 14 shows in 5 days, so I think I did okay.

Oops, sorry, I forgot to mention what I was going to see in Stratford, and you all are obviously interested.

The answers to that and other questions:

1. I think it would have to be of the day when I was around 5 that I had measles - I remember jumping on the spare room bed while my mom sewed, the cat ate my lunch, and we listened to the soundtrack for Hair. I specifically remember the song about the flag. Not my best music experience per se, but my favourite memory involving music.

2. We're seeing Anything Goes, Guys & Dolls, Count of Monte Cristo, and the one I always forget. The Triumph of Love, that's it. Note the complete lack of Shakespeare at a Shakespeare festival (that was not deliberate, just a matter of timing).

3. My hair is kind of orangey-blond. Strawberry blond is probably the technical term for it. Basically it's the same colour as a ginger cat.

4. Honestly, I think I'd rather clean someone else's apartment than my own - at least that way I might stumble across deep, dark secrets!

5. We're not seeing Macbeth, which is fine by me. Although I'm a little disappointed that we're not going to Midsummer's Night Dream.

6. Toronto's has been going since 1989. The oldest Fringe in Canada is Edmonton (which is also the largest), which was started in 1982. I went to my first Fringe Festival in Victoria in 1990, I think.

7. Yup. I kind of have a thing for his accent. :) It became my user name because I was searching for something at the very first board I signed up for (since I've never had a nickname, so I couldn't use that), and it seemed like everyone had TV related names. It only occurred to me afterward that this could be because it was a TV board.

So I'm off. Yay! My parents' plane is arriving in about a 1/2 hour, and I'm meeting them at the train station, and we're heading off to Stratford. I haven't seen my parents since Christmas, so that'll be nice. Plus, theatre and not going to work. Good things all round. Have a fantastic week, everyone! Don't miss me too much. :)

([livejournal.com profile] starfishchick, I have the tickets for our One Man LotR odyssey on Saturday. I'll talk to you on Friday (email or phone) and we can plan, ok?)
