Feb. 17th, 2004 03:38 pmYou know, I used to love going to the optometrist - they'd show you the eye charts, and the pictures in red and green, then you'd do the "which is clearer?" dealie. I don't know, I always found it really fun. Which is good, because I started wearing glasses when I was 7, so I went to the optometrist a lot.
It's just not as much fun anymore. Now they blast puffs of air into your eyes, which freaks me out, and then you get the dilating drops and anesthesia, which make my eyes feel heavy and a little sore. Plus I can't read for hours afterward. In fact, I can't read right now, so if there are typos, it's because the screen is a blur. I'm not even entirely sure what I'm still doing at work - it's hard enough to read CD liner notes with perfect eyesight, let alone the mass of fuzziness that I have right now.
Heh - I just tried to look something up for someone, and I had my hands one key over on the keyboard the entire time. Must practice my touch-typing.
