Places called: 5 15
No answer: 15
Already taken and therefore now I really want them: 3
Would require a second job: 2
Would merely require a raise and are ideally situated and I'm contemplating selling my hair: 1
Have no living room and are therefore useless: 1

Apartments that were much, much farther off the subway line than originally thought: 1
Appointments that I kept: 1
Appointments other people involved (namely supers) did not keep: 1

Despite having read 133 books last year, only two of those were while I was home for Christmas, and one of those was very small. I also didn't watch any TV (other than the bad New VI countdown on New Year's) or any DVDs, and I only went to one movie.

This begs the question, what the hell did I do with my time?

Oh, that's right, I played games.

Namely, Apples to Apples, Outrage, Ex Libris, Trivial Pursuit 90s Edition, Puerto Rico, Captain Park's Imaginary Polar Expedition, Careers, darts and ping-pong (the last two at which I was soundly smacked down by [livejournal.com profile] sanity_clause).

*geek bliss*

Ooo, you're making me nervous. I'm going to have to start looking for apartments in March or so, and I'm dreading exactly what you're going through right now. Good luck!

Obviously, now I have to move out to Markham to get a house big enough to install a full rec-room with ping-pong, pool, darts and foosball.. 'Cause damn that was fun. :)

I assume you've already looked at craigslist, but what about these? You said $850 was your ceiling, right? Or was it $750? The 1 bdrm in our building just got rented, but it was $1000, so... boo.

(if you lived in that one, we'd be neighbours, you know!)

Also have you looked at www.viewit.ca? I haven't seen any signs in my hood yet, but they do pop up from time to time. (I live at College/Ossington.)

That's a nice, large kitchen on the middle one. Be fun to cook for people.

This might seem dumb, but are there no apartment complexes, rather than individual buildings, where you are?

Trivial Pursuit 90s Edition is awesome. Except for the fact that my friends and I suck at the real news and kick ass at the entertainment trivia. Although, really, that's more of a problem with us than with the game.

How critical is the apartment need right now? I think Pauliatchy has a spare room - and a fully equipped entertainment centre..of course this is up to him, as It's not my place, but if you were looking for something temporary until you find a perfect place of your own...
I'd offer you our spare room as a stop gap measure, if we actually had a "spare" room.
