Those of you who use Gmail for your comment notification, is it threading properly yet? Do you like it?

My fastmail account, which I use for all online stuff, is running out of space, even though I have barely anything saved there. It's irritating. So I thought I might change to my Gmail account, but I remember hearing there were problems related to LJ.

it's threading better, i think. this week i starting labelling threads that were mood bean feedback, and they've turned out properly. but it didn't bother me enough to not use it when it -wasn't- threading properly, so i may not be the person to ask. it'll still have different threads for replies to a post than for replies to a comment on the same post, i think, but that's not a problem for me. i don't get that many comments, i guess ;)

What I remember (and I wasn't actually paying much attention, so I could be totally wrong) was that it put *all* comments as being from the same person, creating one bizarre long thread, but it sounds like that's not happening anymore, so that's good.

I switched my LJ email to one of my Gmail accounts recently, but it's still forwarding to Yahoo so I haven't been observing Gmail's treatment of the comments closely.

They're threading, but slightly oddly IMO -- the Inbox page doesn't show who the additional people are in a thread, just the originator, and the number of messages in a thread isn't really highlighted in any obvious way to make it easy to see what's new. Why not try it for a while and see if you hate it?

I think it still threads strangely, but I don't really care. If I can't respond to a comment right away and I want to, I'll just star the message and go back to it.

I think it's a lot better than it used to be, but it's still goofy.

It sounds like it's not wonky enough to be irritating, so that's good enough for me. :)
