Inquiring minds want to know: why isn't every weekend a long weekend?

***

For those of you worried that [livejournal.com profile] sallym might be a serial killer, I present my safe return home as proof that she is not. Or else [livejournal.com profile] idella, [livejournal.com profile] starfishchick and I were left unharmed to confuse the detectives. Either way, I had a fabulous time - we hung out, talked, played games, went in the hot tub, admired the beach, and ate much food and candy. A fantastic trip.

And then on Sunday night [livejournal.com profile] vestra and I finally got around to putting together the bookcase I bought at IKEA. I'd count it as a rousing success, except that we put on of the shelves on backward, so the unfinished end is facing front. Oops. It's ok, it gives character, right?

It was very exciting, though, because then we got to shuffle and reorganize books, and now you can actually see most of my books. Whee, books!

We also watched Desperate Housewives, which is campy and silly, but much fun, and Real Women Have Curves, which I liked, although it felt a little unfinished somehow. The lead actress was great, though - at least until the featurette, where she was all Aah! Sparkles! And the boy was ridiculously sweet and adorable. I'm sure teenage boys aren't like that in real life.

Monday we went running in the cold and my hands nearly fell off. Let this be a lesson to you.

Then I went to the Starfishfolks' house for Thanksgiving dinner and games, which was much fun, and made me miss my parents. I ate, and enjoyed, brussel sprouts (shh, it's a secret). My dad was distraught when I told him this - he took it as a personal betrayal. Hee.

Now, I am hungry AGAIN, as usual, and already thinking of lunch. So, a poll.

[Poll #365209]

You should have sushi because I want sushi and I can't have any because I have 82 cents to my name.

It would be sushi by proxy, definitely! I want to hear all about it! <3

(I can eat sushi this weekend after I get paid. But I want to hear about it now!)

Because then I would be on welfare, and my cats would all die.

I hope the poll has the functionality to tell you I picked all but two (I think) choices.

I am hungry and indecisive also. Although now the words "cheese sandwich" are winding their way through the food centres of my brain (aka, my brain).

1) True, I may never order another roasted vegetable sandwich as long as I live.

2) I am having trouble picturing a "bad" cheese sandwich, but I'm sure they can find a way. To arms!

And what of the grilled cheese sandwich you had yesterday, with challah & organic 1-year aged cheddar? Does the hunger consume you that much?

Perhaps a grilled cheese and blood-pudding sandwich? ;)

*ignore*

(If you MUST know, I ended up with shepherd's pie [for which, according to the counter guy, gravy was "optional", which... I just don't understand people sometimes] and salad with the Honey Balsamic dressing for which I am leaving you.)

I must strongly vote against the cheese sandwich. Because you see, it's the fallback "nothing else is available" choice. And also, I hate cheese sandwiches. More than you can imagine. And the last one I was forced to eat had MOLDY cheese in it. ugh. And was accompanied by a terrific Brit-food staple, "Monster Munch" in Pickled Onion flavor. Yee gads, who comes up with these things...and then, who buys them???

Also, re the backwards-facing shelves, I'm certain it was you and I putting together my computer desk in Victoria that did exactly the same thing to one piece of it. And you're right, it definitely does give character! :)

hey, watchit

Don't make me reveal Secret Facts that were revealed in Certain Recent Emails and which render any and all of your food-related opinions Completely Valueless.

The Cheese Sandwich Rules! All bow before the mighty cheese.

All bow before the mighty cheese.

Yesterday I worshipped corn. I had corn for lunch and popcorn for dinner. And just for good measure today I had creamed corn for lunch.

I just wanted you to know.

*makes note to never feed you creamed corn and scalloped potates*

One one of my bookshelves, I put in the top shelf upside-down, so where you should see white, you see unfinished particle board or whatever wood-like substance by shelving is.

You can ogle for yourself. Meep.

That's what I'm horrifically afraid of! They are going to be in utter chaos! I have too few shelves, and I'm too busy doing real cleaning to take care of them. :(

But I'll do my best to have them presentable, since I think you're one of nine people who will be making that same beeline, either first or second (after the CDs). The CDs, at least, are in perfect order AND catalogued.
