But you all, I'm sure, can spam me with something else, something whose sticking qualities are greater than even Queen. Do your worst!

Johnny Trash knew I'd been hit with an earworm last week whilst we were out running errands. How did he know? Well, we were sitting at a stoplight (we have a motorcycle so it's not like I could turn on the radio) and I started screaming. Then, when we got home, I queued up "From Her to Eternity" before I even took my helmet off.

The earworm? Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me."

Now you know why I was screaming.

About ten years ago I went to a very elaborate fancy dress party to which my friend Louise wore a long blonde wig. late into the night, everyone was trying the wig on, and when our friend Ronan donned it, everyone gasped, because he looked exactly like Joe Elliot of Def leppard, but no one wanted to insult him by telling him. Then he looked at his reflection in the mirror, turned around, and without missing a beat sang out "pour some sugar on me!"

That dreadful song was stuck in my head for ages afterwards, but at least I had amusing visuals to go with it....
