Hello, there are people BEING SHOT just down the street from me. I am a little wigged out. And thankful that I was on time this morning, or else I might very well have gotten caught right in the middle of everything, since I got off at that very subway station this morning.

I wonder if we'll ever know why he shot the woman in the food court. Somehow the thought that it might be random violence is even scarier than the thought that it was precipitated by something specific. At least the hostage is unharmed (physically - I'm sure emotionally she's a wreck).

I didn't hear about this until I got into work. It's really frightening.

I know! This is more like something that I could see happening near York U, or in Scarborough, or somewhere else like that. But downtown? Yikes!

I knew I should have deleted my comment... I meant is this really Toronto the so-called good? What's happening with this city?

The woman who was shot was the suspect's wife.

Crazy world.

I'm glad you're okay and I totally know where you're coming from. When the DC sniper went on a rampage for most of October last year, it was insanely frightening. The DC Metro area basically shut down. No one wanted to go outside, pump gas, etc.

I'm glad they got him right away but still, you must have been really scared for your family and friends.

Just down the street from where you work?! Holy crap! That's so frightening, I can't even imagine what everyone at your work is thinking right now. I hope everything's okay!

Did the street get blocked off because of the shooting?

And here I was worried about what shoes to pack for my trip there on Friday. Yikes. Firearms. Brandished. South of the 401. Scary.

Also. What the hell does DO I pack? What's the weather really like?!

Distress and confusion! Hot is good for the cottage - v.v. good for the cottage. We like that. Hot is not good for elements of trip around Toronto. Which, admittedly, are small but v.v. critical to overall holiday enjoyment. And here I thought I'd be able to pack lightly.

Wow. I'm so glad you're okay! And a bit weirded out to think of that happening in Toronto.
