I can't sleep, and I'm not sure I'll be going to see it all those times I said I would. I'm just not anxious to have my heart stomped on again.
I mean, it was a great movie, and there was lots of greatness, but the sadness carried through. Nobody left that movie theatre jumping for joy, or psyched or "let's watch that AGAIN!". No, it was a pretty sombre exit.
As for book, I think our Parliamentary Assassin character is supposed to represent who Book WAS , like 20 years ago, and that he had the same kind of epiphany, under similar circumstances. I think Joss was trying to give us the Book story without actually giving us the Book story in his own words.
Yeah, Jewel was way thinner. She'd be walking away and I'm thinkin' "Where did your hips go? Do your overalls really go straight down now?"
And what was with SuperSimon in the beginning? Certainly nothing like the man we meet in the series. He seemed so calm, so together, so ...professional. Remember "Who is this master of disguise?" in Jaynestown? It didn't make no sense.
