Y'all noticed that it's February, right? Yeah. Let me tell you a little story about February...

In a complete reversal of opinion, sometime around December 31, 2002, I decided to make New Year's resolutions for the first time ever. But see, I was trying to outsmart myself -- I decided that the reason no one ever successfully keeps their resolutions for more that a week is that they make too many, and try to make all those changes at once. Bound to fail, right? Oh yeah. So I made one resolution for each month, the premise being that I would start each one during that month, and by the end of the month it would be almost habit-like, and I could stop thinking about it while I went on to the resolution for the next month. To further help myself along, some of the resolutions were as non-arduous as "see more movies". Really, I thought I was being very clever.

January's resolution? Go to the gym. Notice the lack of numbers there -- I wasn't looking for "go to the gym 3 times a week", or anything optimistic like that. Basically, I was hoping for "go to the gym, for which you are paying $15 a month, at least one time in the whole freakin' month of January". Well, today is February 3rd.

I'm sure you can see where this is going.

I didn't make it one time. I didn't even manage to go to the gym and get so exhausted from starting back on the weights that I left after 15 minutes, which totally would have counted, because at least I would have step foot in my gym. To top it all off, I haven't gone back to my Sunday dance class since I went home for Christmas, and I had to miss 2 Thursday classes because I was sick. Basically, I've become surgically attached to the couch, or the comfy chair, if I'm lucky and get home before my roommate.

Still, I haven't completely given up on my resolutions. February is off to a roaring start, but you'll have to wait until the end of the month to find out why. Ooh, suspense!
