May. 1st, 2007 08:07 pmThis morning it was light out when my alarm went off! I think that's the first time this year. To celebrate, I told myself I could have 5 more minutes of sleep, and woke up again an hour later. Not even Tom Allen's dulcet tones penetrated that fog.
Last night's Heroes was awesome, wasn't it? So fantastic. And then I watched last week's Lost (yes, I'm a little behind), which was also awesome, and made me cry (Sun and Jin stories always do) and had a fabulous ending.
Some very lovely person gave me an Amazon gift certificate for my birthday, and I am saving it for Kitchen Confidential (eee!). Although the temptation to buy something random is very strong. I bought about $400 worth of stuff off Amazon for work on Monday, which was entertaining, despite the fact that it wasn't for me. And then there will be boxes! Certain of us at work get very excited when the packages arrive, and gather around the desk to open them as soon as they arrive. It's a nice moment of enthusiasm in a sea of cynicism. :)
My new obsession with neighbourhoods (which you will know more about if I ever get around to doing a book post) is making me very excited about Jane's Walk this weekend. I love the idea of hearing more about the history of certain areas of the city. They don't say how long they are, so I think I'm just going to pick one to start with, and then follow my whim for the next ones after that. And on Friday night I think I might go to the Found Footage Festival at the Bloor. If I don't think I'm too movied out by then.
Oh, and! I made an awesome spinach salad for dinner. But now I have vinegar mouth. And I don't think the wine is really helping with that.
