Things I learned during my trip:

Winnipegers love their bread. Seriously. Every meal I got there, no matter what kind of restaurant, came with bread on the side. In one place I ordered chickpea curry and a side salad, and they both came with bread on the side of the plate.

It is actually possible to watch too much HGTV. I now know every possible trick that should be used when trying to sell your house. Although I am impressed that they managed to play the exact episode of How Not to Decorate that I saw when I was in a hotel in Halifax. Also, I have to ask, what happened to the Food Network? Where are all the actual cooking shows? Not that I can't appreciate a good tour of pancake restaurants, but sometimes I just want a host and a camera and a hot pan. Yes, I think I'm over extended cable now.

On the other hand, I never did figure out if there's anywhere open downtown after 6pm that sells water, or why the Second Cup was selling three different flavours of rice crispee squares.

So there you have it -- I stood at the windiest intersection in Canada and survived. Of course, I was standing there because I hadn't quite twigged onto the fact that there were no pedestrian crossings, and that I had to go underground in order to cross the street. But still.

I had two blissful nights of sleeping in my own bed, and then tonight I'm off to spend three days in a hotel learning how to be a better manager (not that I'm a manager now). Enforced socialization, role playing, and bad food, here I come! BAH.

And then next weekend, I'm going to buy a new computer. I MISS MY INTERNETS.
