Put your pollen tube to work

A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove.
I tried this at some point last week, but I haven't posted about the last few BPAL scents I've tested, so I'm wearing it again today.
When I first put this on, it smells exactly like apricot jam. Which, ok, I can see why that might be too much for some people, but I like to smell like food, so it's all good. It gets better, though, as it dries, and the warm, spicy clove comes through. Now it's sweet and spicy, and I'm very much enjoying it.
In other news:
I'm still sick. In fact, I think I'm getting worse. I'm pretty sure that's not the way these things are supposed to go. I had to run out and buy toilet paper in the middle of the day yesterday because I'd used up all the spare rolls BLOWING MY NOSE. Bah.
It's snowing! Real, actual flakes of snow falling on my head as I came to work this morning. It's a good thing I decided today was the day to pull out the winter coat. You know, it feels early this year. That's probably just the result of wishful thinking, though, wherein I pretend that it never snows until after I go home for Christmas.
I ordered one last Christmas present this morning, carefully checking that it was "Ships within 24 hours", and yet, still, they say it's not going to get here until Dec. 21 at the earliest. Which, no, because at this time of year I do not trust in the earliest delivery date, and I have to fly home on the 22nd. Hrmph.
Finally, and most importantly,
vestra left for her Bahamian cruiseship adventure on Saturday. I'm going to miss her like crazy. We've been roommates for 3 1/2 years, and friends for -- god, it's been something like 12 years now. We met in music school, where we bonded over us both knowing all the words to "Reproduction" from Grease 2. Yes, it's technically only for six months, and yes, she's been gone for nearly that long before (since we've been roommates), but this feels much more permanent -- all her stuff is gone, and who knows if she's going to end up living in Toronto again? And in the meantime, I will miss her. Even though her being gone means I always get the comfy chair.
