Lynda Barry Cruddy
Hmm. This got all sorts of rave reviews when it first came out, but I just didn't like it all that much. I don't know - the writing felt very stiff and stilted, which I think was purposeful, but that didn't make it very easy to become absorbed in. So, not for me.
Tanya Huff No Quarter
I didn't love it as much as the previous volume (Fifth Quarter), but it was still very fun. I'm really looking forward to starting the Blood series.
Laurie R. King Beekeeper's Apprentice
Mary Russell, the narrator of the book, meets Sherlock Holmes when she's only 15, and becomes his apprentice and friend. It's a very interesting premise and made a great book. I very much enjoyed the building of their relationship, and I loved hearing the story through Mary Russell's wonderful voice. If you like Elizabeth Peters' Peabody mysteries, you'll probably like this as well - the two have a very similar style and tone.
J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
You know, I'd completely forgotten these. I mean, I remembered almost nothing, other than the flying car. So much fun. I'm excited about the next movie now.
