listersgirl: (what a day)

Blech.

I woke up at 3:30 last night with the cold that I had been trying to hold off all weekend. Mrrrr. So now I am sneezy and dripping and oh so very attractive. ([livejournal.com profile] tinkerer and [livejournal.com profile] gingerale_kitty, this means I won't be coming with you tonight. I'm sorry! It sucks, but I don't think clinging to a wall is the best place to be with sneezes of this magnitude. I'd probably propel myself right across the room.)

Maybe I can blame the cold for how tired I was this weekend. I'd like to blame the weird-ass rash on the cold, too, but that might be stretching a little.

Next weekend is Easter! I only just discovered this while looking at my calendar this morning. Woohoo long weekend! I wish I'd realized a little sooner that it was coming up, because I'd really like to do something, go somewhere maybe, take advantage of my long weekend. Although, if I'm going to be sick, maybe not. Still, if I spend 4 days at home doing nothing, I will totally feel like I wasted the time off. So I'm going to have to look around -- I've probably left it too late, but I kind of want to go to a retreat or something like that, somewhere where they'll feed me and I can read and wander through the woods. Although I'm not sure that would be entirely fun by myself. Hmm. I was briefly temped to fly down to New York, but I don't have my renewed passport back yet, sadly, and I only have 4 days, which would mean I'd be spending most of the time in transit. I don't know! It's not the best time of year for vacationing, at least not locally. I may be pretending it's spring, but I think we all know better.

Meanwhile, I'm going to fill myself up with all sorts of things that probably won't do anything to ease the cold up, but at least I'll feel like I'm trying. Also, I'm going to eat my yummy rice pudding that I didn't have time to eat this morning, because it was far too busy.

Ack! I'm sorry -- I bet I gave you my cold/thing. Mind you, if that's the case, you could be done with it by the weekend -- it kind of zoomed through me. And you can totally blame the rash on it, because if you were running a low-grade fever that can turn up a rash, I think.

Next weekend *is* Easter, isn't it? Oy. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Oh, and, if you want a quiet getaway with some Activities nearby, the wine region is always good and there are probably lots of bed and breakfast type places. I bet it's "interesting" getting a booking for a long weekend on such short notice, but then, I don't think it's the busy season there yet.

The retreat idea is great, but I don't know anything about those sorts of places. You could create your own at home, though -- order in, go to the spa for a mani/pedi and maybe a facial or silly wrap or something you wouldn't normally get?

Much better, just some leftover harrumphing and nose-blowing and tiredness. So yeah, considering that I'm a delicate flower, you should be fine soon. Eat your Wheaties and take your Flintstones!

You are invited to "Easter" at my parents' this coming Sunday, but there will be no egg hunting and starfishsis and partner won't be there.

We will, however, be watching The Masters', so I figured you weren't interested. :)

I'm sorry that you're not feeling well! :(

I guess that we can let you off the hook for this week. See you next Monday?

You poor thing. I hope your cold gets better soon. In the meantime, rice pudding sounds like a wonderful idea.

You should get someone to hide eggs in your apartment so that you can have an Easter egg hunt! You and Starfishchick could do it for each other.

Poor thing, I'm sorry about your cold. I hope that it will clear up soon. I don't know whether rice pudding is good for colds, but I hope it was nice while you were eating it. :-)

I know what you mean about Easter! I'm *sure* it was only a few days ago that it was positively weeks away! Good luck with finding something to do. I'm the same: if left to my own devices, I would just fritter it away and feel like I'd achieved nothing. So I'm probably going to go away somewhere.(I'll then almost certainly feel guilty about not having done any spring cleaning or gardening while I had the chance. But hey, I can *always* manage to find *something* to feel guilty about....)

I know, you should go to Shaw and see a preview of Mack and Mabel on Saturday night. And then tell me all about it, because I really like the score to that show, but have never seen it.

I don't know if Stratford's season has started yet-their website appears to be wonky.

Either that, or spend this week inventing a teleporting machine, then come see me for Easter! Yay!!

[identity profile] vestra.livejournal.com 2007-04-03 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
I'm fully in favour of the teleporter.

Go to Shaw! Previews are probably not too outrageously pricey! See if there's something else fun to do around there!

No wait, if there is a teleporter being built, the first location it will teleport to is my place. I insist!

Ewww, cold! :( Lots of fluids, and I hope it passes quickly!

Also: I may be pretending it's spring, but I think we all know better. = AHAHAHAHAHA! Hee. Dude, I'm calling April 14th for one last round of snow. ;)
