I have come to the conclusion, after reading and failing to find answers to innumerable lyric memes, that the only ones I can ever get are either Canadian or from musicals, no matter how many of the songs I actually know. And usually too late. Also, Tragically Hip songs will earworm me, complete with Gord Downie, for the rest of the day.
I can't watch Jonathan any more. Whenever he shows up on the screen I hit the mute button and look away, because he just makes me so angry and stressed. I'm pretty sure that if I were actually *in* the race, and had to interact with him in any way, I would have asked to be sent home. It'd either be that or go insane.
Also, other people made me very angry last night, too. Why am I even watching this show anymore?
There's really not much else going on in the world of me. As long as I don't look at the wall of CDs on my desk I can pretend I'm not that far behind at work, I have no real thoughts as to what to bring to the staff party tomorrow, I'm boning up on my Messiah for the screech-a-long on Sunday, and OH LOOK IT'S LUNCHTIME. Thank pete.
How are you?
ETA: This is it, folks, the last BPAL review, at least until I put another order in -- which will probably be soon, considering it took 3 months to get here. Anyway, none of the samples really did much for me, but I traded a rejected imp of Envy for The Apothecary
Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig.
It's quite nice - sharp without being overwhelmingly green. And it lasts surprisingly well. I'll have to try it again before making a final decision, but I think I like it.

I have the feeling everyone at CBS was reading the contracts with the players looking for exactly what level of assishness J. has to reach to be booted. Because, ASSHOLE!!!

Like...
1) Don't go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
2) Somebody told me that you have a boyfriend who looks like a girlfriend that I had in January of last year
(from memory)
And I HATE HATE HATE that first song because of that lyric.

Here's another try at it for you.
3) Buddy you're a boy make a big noise playing in the street you're gonna be a big man some day you've got mud on your face, you big disgrace, somebody better put you back into your place.
4) Desert loving in your eyes all the way. When I listen to your lies do you say I'm a man without conviction, I'm a man who doesn't know how to sell a contradiction You come and go, You come and go

I can only recognize them if I can sing along long enough to get to the title of the song. :D

Both of the excerpts were exactly to the first time the title is sung. :)
I have an unholy love for 'Karma Chameleon'.

5) When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, [title]. And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, [title].

I heart that song.

An interesting tidbit that's been mentioned a few times on the TWOP boards is that only three non-elims (as opposed to four) are now scheduled. Hrm, I really wonder and hope that this means they're kicking J/V off.

So I've been thinking he's a jerk, and should be booted on the soonest possible excuse, but I also don't think it really will happen, because in my experience, guys like that are very good about knowing exactly where the line is and not doing anything they can't manage to get away with. But I haven't at all had an urge not to watch the show, and I don't know if that's just because I'm less involved generally, or just sort of inured to this sort of thing from personal history. It's sort of cool to know that my own experiences are far enough back that I can think of vaguely similar things my ex did, without getting upset. Or apparently, embarrased about admitting it, even if it's probably TMI and doesn't reflect well on me particularly.
I do hope Victoria has some family and friends who can use this footage as proof positive that things are fucked up and she needs get away from him.

And someone already stole my idea of a huge bag of clementines. :)
I could probably make a dip/spread of some kind, but I'm just not sure how much energy I feel like putting in to this.

Or, as I used to do for our student things, get a frozen pound cake in the grocery store, thaw it, dump a can of cherry pie filling on top, and top the whole thing with whipped creme (the last two, obviously, right before you serve it). Cheap student dessert thing. And people actually ate it! :)

I might just have to do that.
