People, help me please! I have had Bohemian Rhapsody in my head ALL MORNING LONG and it will not go away. Not even the screaming child in the atrium can defeat the power of Queen.

But you all, I'm sure, can spam me with something else, something whose sticking qualities are greater than even Queen. Do your worst!

Think of a Beatles song and mix. :)

Ahem...

1) In the town where I was born, there lived a man who sailed the seas. And he told me of his life in a yellow submarine.

2) I have confidence in sunshine. I have confidence in rain. I have confidence that spring will come again...

3) Do do do do. Do do do do. Do do do do do do do do. etc. I was sitting in the morning at the diner on the corner...

4) Kyle's Mom is a big fat bitch, she's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world...

K. That ought to last you for a while.

Why would you want to remove a Queen earworm, anyway?

Here's the story of a lovely lady
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother
The youngest one in curls

Here's the story of a man named Brady
Who was living with three boys of his own...

(I seem to be blanking on the rest)

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

and if you go to http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/smworld.htm you'll be forced to listen to a really crappy midi version of it. *demented smile*

LALALALALALALA!! *goes to Disney World*

After many gruelling years of back-breaking research, I have discovered the ULTIMATE in song-wiping technologies:

The "Meow Mix" song. (Just sing it to yourself, quietly, and all else will be wiped. Better yet — the MM song itself doesn't stick on the brain nearly as much!)

I'd rather have Queen stuck in my head. On my way to work it was "Black socks, they never get dirty, the longer you wear them the stronger they get. Sometimes I think I should wash them but something inside me says no, no, not yet. Not yet. Not yet..." And now it's, "Lovin' you...is easy 'cause you're beautiful. Do do do do dooooo..." Blech.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
A tale of a fateful trip
That started on a tropic isle
Aboard a tiny ship....

That always works for me. Or rather, makes me want to kill myself.

Or, if you'd like to join me in my current earworm? May I present to you:

Flat nose, tap dancin' resident of Harlem
And President of the United States of Love
I said, President of the United States of Love.
Shiiiiit.

My day is filled with childrens' songs, so BH would actually be a refreshing change.

Conjunction junction, what's your function? Hooking up words and phrases and clauses. Conjunction junction, how's that function? I've got three favourite cars that get most of my work done...

A noun is a person place or thing...dodooloodoloo....Oh, I took a train took a train to another state...

Come on vaminos! Everybody let's go! Come on let's get to it, I know that we can do it! Where are we going? (Planet 10!) Where are we going? (Planet 10!) *

* note: destination substituted in each show, and was never actually Planet 10.

If there's a place you wanna go, I'm the one you need to know, I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. If there's a place you wanna get, I can get you there, I'll bet, I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the map. I'm the Maaaaaaaaaaap!!!

Backpack backpack! Backpack backpack! I'm the one who's loaded up with things and knicknacks too. Anything that you might need, I've got inside for you. Backpack backpack! Backpack backpack! Yeah!!!

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Scoop, Muck and Dizzy
and Rolly too.
Lofty and Wendy
join the crew.
Bob and the gang
have so much fun.
Working together,
they get the job done!

(chorus)
Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Time to get busy.
Such a lot to do.
Building and fixing
till it's good as new.
Bob and the gang
make a really good sound.
Working all day
till the sun goes down.

(chorus)
Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Can you fix it?
Right.
Left a bit.
Right a little.
Ok, straight down.

We can tackle any situation
Look out, here we come

Can we dig it? Yes
Can we build it? Yes
Can we fix it? Yes

(chorus)
Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

Digging and mixing
Having so much fun
Working together
They get the job done

Can we dig it? Yes
Can we build it? Yes
Can we fix it? Yes

Bob the builder! Hey!!!
Bob the builder! Altogether now

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes, yes we can!

Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
oooooooh!!

(chorus)
Bob the builder
Can we fix it?
Bob the builder
Yes we can!

We'd better get some work done!

Then there are days I get the Thomas the Train Engine theme stuck in my head, but it has no words.

Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" which has been stuck in my head since last evening.

Or Paul McCartney and Wings "Listen What the Man Said."

That's all I've got for you.

I find that Nick Cave's "From Her to Eternity" is a good mind cleanser -- kills earworms dead.

So, did anything help?

One of the grade 5 classes had their music class in the library this morning...I could help you out with some campfire songs.

Hmmm, I was trying to think of something for your earworm, but now I have Bohemian Rhapsody on the brain.... The last few days, I've been hooked on ABBA's Knowing Me Knowing You as recorded by the Wondermints, which removed the last earworm (Video Killed The Radio Star).

You managed to cure me... well... or give me a different affliction...but now it's blocking me from coming up with anything to cure you... hmm, maybe Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac (side note: I'm hearing Rumours played in its entirety on the radio a lot lately.. are we approaching an anniversary?)

That's all I've got... I think I'm still frightened by gmajor's frighteningly encyclopedic knowledge of kid's tv songs! ;)
