Every couple of months I decide that what I really want is a nice warm bath, complete with nice smelly things. And then I have one and I'm invariably disappointed. Baths totally do not live up to their advertising. I always forget this. And now I really wish I had access to a hot tub, because that bath was like having someone giving me a present, letting me get all excited, and then taking it away.

Boo.

omg I adore baths. I wish I could sprinkle magic bathtime dust upon your tub, because it truly is a feeling like no other. especially with a good book and sometimes a glass of seriously fruity wine.

OMG me toooo. That was basically totally my evening. The water was great, my ass hurt, my book got wet, my knees got cold. Wah.

I was thinking about taking a bath today! I have two lush bath thingies (not sure if they're bombs or something else) that I keep meaning to use. But alas, I must work, and then it's really hard to get out of the bath when the house is cold.

Hot tub would be wonderful, especially outside in the falling snow. Some day I will have one.

#1 - You need bath bombs from Fantasy Bath. They make even my little tub (regular sized) special.

#2 - We all need garden tubs. They should come standard, like air conditioning seems to these days.

I used to take so many more long, soak while reading type baths before I had a cat. My bathroom is tiny, and the litter-box is right next to the head of the tub. Even if it's just been cleaned, there's always just a bit of smell when you're a foot away - just enough to that it completely ruins the atmosphere.

But yeah- bathtubs need to be deeper, so the water could cover you properly.

You clearly need a hot tub for Christmas. You might write Santa about that...

I have fantasies about the prefects bathtub at Hogwarts. Apartment bathtubs are inevitably lacking, but I still love baths. I've drowned many a book in the bathtub in my time.

Though the problem is inevitably the limits of an apartment-sized tub, it is remarkable what a quality bath pillow can do.

The best bath I ever had was at a hotel in Tasmania - I accidentally created hilariously cinematic bubbles because I didn't realize the effect the jets (it was totally a jacuzzi!) would have on the bubble bath. It was just a few slammed doors short of a farce. Good times! I'm sorry, I know that doesn't help you out at all. I'm sorry. The bath pillow might, though. And if you make the water hot enough, it's a relief to have a limb or two not submerged. Anyway, I hope someday soon you get the magical bath you so crave and deserve.

Boo indeed - that's a shame. A good bath is *so* good. But I can sympathise about the problems of a small tub - mine isn't really quite big enough, either. I have fantasies about replacing it with an enormous thing big enough to be completely submerged in. But, given the size of my bathroom, I guess that'll have to be in my next house - the one with the library and the panoramic views from my bedroom.

Nice idea! I'm totally coming to you for advice, when the time comes...

Omigod, BATH! I love baths more than just about anything else. I'm sorry they never live up to your expectations.

I second [livejournal.com profile] girldetective's recommendation of a bath pillow. Makes for a way more comfy bath.

I'm going to go have a bath RIGHT NOW!

tubs are tooooo small. in college i had the Best Tub Ever and i took baths all the time, but now my tub is wee and i will surely end up with many cold bits. woe.

I agree. I think the solution is to get a better bathtub. One of those huge ones with the clawed feet that you can totally submerge yourself in with multiple bath fizzy bombs.
