I'm listening to an old album by The Dears (No Cities Left). When it started, I thought, eh, it's fine, but there's really nothing special about, nothing that's grabbing me. Because usually I have instant reactions to music. But now I'm almost at the end and I think I'm in love.

And how is YOUR day?

My day has been expensive. I finally found a beautiful dining set. No more eating on the sofa! (maybe hehe)

I feel as though I have heard of the Dears - what are they like?

My Friday was busy busy busy - orientation of the new grad students. Today (Monday) has been good so far - went to the gym, am vainly trying to catch up on flist. :)

I think they're from Montreal, so that's probably why you've heard of them. They're a little bit Stars, a little bit Smiths, a little bit dark orchestral pop. Not really at all what I thought I was going to be listening to. And I just discovered that they have a new album out! I'm excited.
