Let's pretend this is the last time I'm going to talk about how hot it is, okay?

There are people out there (you know who you are) who are TOO AFRAID to complain about the hot, hot summer we're having, in case the weather gods take revenge by starting winter in September.

Babies.

I am not afraid! I will stand up for all of you in saying:

SHUT IT WITH THE BLOODY SWELTERING WEATHER!!!

[livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana very nicely informed us that it was hotter in Toronto than in Bombay yesterday. NICE. And, oh, look, it's only going to get hotter today and for the rest of the fucking week.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I just want to stop being covered in sweat from the moment I step out of the shower. And I wouldn't mind being able to sit down without having my legs suction-cup together. And is it too much to ask that we actually get to do summery things in the summer, like go outside?

Ok, weather gods, strike me down. I'm ready for you.

Also, I would like all tourists who think of Canada as one big igloo to come visit me this week. That'll put marzipan in your pieplate, bingo.

I almost fainted when I saw Toronto's weather forecast. I'm not sure I want to go back.

At least you're not in Kuwait...

[identity profile] yiskah.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. How to people live there and NOT TOTALLY DIE?

[identity profile] yiskah.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Tomorrow it will be SIX DEGREES HOTTER in Toronto than in Khartoum.

[identity profile] sarcasma.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still reeling from Kuwait. WTF, weather gods?

[identity profile] jeejeen.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
*takes shirt off*

we really shouldn't start that again.

[identity profile] yiskah.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
BWAHAHA!

[identity profile] jeejeen.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
AND ALSO HOTTER THAN MIAMI! WITHOUT THE NAKED PEOPLE ROLLERBLADING EVERYWHERE! It doesnt seem quite fair, somehow.

ALSO YOU WILL BE SORRY WHEN WINTER STRIKES IN SEPTEMBER!

When I was in the (cold) shower this morning, I was thinking about what cold feels like. I wondered... will I ever be cold again?

BUt then I quickly stopped that train of thought because-let's face it- I'll feel cold again all too soon.

Snerk. Kind of how people come to California mid-November and are surprised that it's windy and overcast?

[identity profile] offscreen.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
HEE. It was colder here than it was in Mississippi for most of last winter.

[identity profile] offscreen.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I guess I shouldn't mention that when I went to the beach to watch fireworks on the 4th, it was very gray and cloudy and so cold I had to borrow a sweater and wrap myself in a fleece blanket.

[identity profile] morag-gunn.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha ha.

All the more reason to move to Vancouver. You know, aside from the fact that I'm having a party on Friday and you would be invited.

Downtown Canadia isn't made up of igloos?

You LIE!

Word. You know it's bad if I'm envying the Coast Guard ice breaker pilot on the radio this morning. This morning it was 11C in the Beaufort Sea. Sounds lovely. *sigh*

On a not entirely unrelated note, weather.com can kiss my ass. They measure their temperatures at the top of some building downtown [or worse, at the airport] that gets lots of cool breeze, so they deceive unsuspecting people into thinking it's really 76 degrees in Los Angeles, when down here near the pavement and windows and things that reflect heat, it's probably about 95.

32 degrees Celsuis

[identity profile] goblinshark.livejournal.com 2005-07-12 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
No igloos? I'm disappointed, wherever will you keep your pet polar bears? D.C. does have Toronto beat by a few degrees today, but at lesat everywhere here(except the Metro) has AC.

It is 2 degrees in Resolute today.

I have two wee weather icons in my systray--one for sunny, subtropical South Jersey (where I am) and one for what has apparently become torrid Toronto (where M. is).

You're beating us, 33 to 32 degrees right now. That happens so rarely that I needed to report it somewhere. Good thing there was this thread open.

Seriously, staying cool has become the entire focus of my life right now. I hate to leave work because the building, once cooled, stays at a pretty constant 25--which my house does not.

i do not complain about the weather. i merely make statements upon it, like "it is hot" or "tonight i shall cuddle my icepacks again because there is not an air-conditioner to be found in the city". I shall despise the roommate with the AC, and wish that my fan were larger. I will wish that i did not get on the aeroplane from Victoria to the big Smog. But i shall not complain, because (and this is the important part) it can always get worse. It can get hotter, more humid, and stay that way for months. if the weather predictors are right, today is nice. Friday will be hot. go forth and put your sheets in the freezer.
