My parents gave me a magnetic spice jar in my stocking this year, as a tester to see if they'd work for me (instead of the giant useless bag of spices I currently have), and it's great. So I bought some more. I'm having a terrible time getting the stickers off the (magnetic) back, though. I found that when I left the sticker on, the jar stuck to the fridge, but peeling off the stickers hasn't really worked either. Anyone have any great ideas for getting the stick off something? I tried nail polish remover, but it just smeared it around.

If I ever get these to work, they're going to be so awesome. But right now they're just annoying and in the way. :P

Here in the US we have a product called "Goo Gone" which is quite effective at getting the sticky stuff off of things. WD-40 might also help. And since oily things seem to take it off, you might try a bit of vegetable oil just to see that moves things at all.

And there's always just soaking it in soapy water...

Sometimes getting stickers really wet and then rubbing with olive oil can work. And use a scrubby sponge if the stickiness is really stubborn.

I find that alcohol helps. Well, obviously, it does in general, but I mean with sticky stuff. :-) I think I got my current lot of isopropyl alcohol from an electronics store. Apparently, it doesn't work with all glues, but it's always worked for me.

Whatever, I hope you can get them clean!

WD 40 works wonders, as does dish soap.
