[livejournal.com profile] pink_vegan and I went to see Alice in Wonderland last night. I enjoyed it very much! Totally entertaining.

HOWEVER.

3D is so annoying. It's so awkward to wear the glasses when you're already wearing glasses - mine kept sliding down and pinching my nose, so I felt like I couldn't breathe properly. I ended up holding them up for the first bit, and then I just gave up and took them off entirely. Somewhat fuzzy, but much less frustrating. And on top of that, I find 3D is distracting, and takes me out of the movie. So no more 3D for me.

That's why I don't watch 3D movies. Gah! So Annoying!

They really need to make adhesive films for glasses, or something.

I don't really GET the 3D thing, unless that is the point, but it's actually interactive, like you get squirted with water from the screen. :)

Indeed. It's OK but I predict it's a fad.

I also predict (and hope!) that it's a fad, and will soon only be used for plotless action movies or really-only-going-to-apply-to-hyperactive-8-year-olds kids' movies. Too many annoyed adults.

Oh isn't it just? 3D annoying, I mean. I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland. Nor have I read it, either. As much as I could ever grasp was that it involved a young girl who drank an hallucinagenic and everybody ended up really small and made of playing cards... Very wrong, I expect, but I never liked anything based on fantasy, which is probably why I never liked cuddly toys or dolls, either.

But anyway, yes, 3D is awful. I have an astigmatism and night blindness due to a weird issue with my pupils not converging properly (I also have two pupils that react at different rates to light, which, I'm told, would suggest brain damage should I ever be in a car crash and unable to confirm that it's just me and I'm usually weird that way), all of which means I cannot see properly through the glasses, and it's actually easier to watch it without. As long as it doesn't get to the point where we have to pay *more* to watch a non-3D version, I'll cope.

Glad you enjoyed the film despite it all, though. :)
