Christmas decorations are out in full force. There are lights on the streets in some places, I saw lit Christmas trees outside of the grocery store, plus wreaths everywhere. And of course the malls and department stores are all over it. Whatever happened to December 1st?

I've heard Christmas music in stores. Already.

December 1st is my rule as far as starting Christmas celebrations. I just believe in giving every holiday its own time. So, until then, I try to ignore everything else. But, man...commercialization is getting aggressive. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" was on the TV yesterday.

christmas started for me in mid-september at work. i did see the nordstrom santa house going up this week, and that seemed excessive, but the more eggnog latte time the better.

What happened?

Halloween is the new December 1.

They kicked most of the halloween stuff out of the grocery store at the end of september for xmas things.

For some reason, I'm still surprised when people comment on this. Someone pointed out before that it's been going on since the 50s at the least.

I wen tto the mall Friday. All the decorations were out, and it was Santa's first day. It's not even (american) Thanksgiving yet!
