Second the confusion. I was headed back to our car with Gminor, who was crushed that she missed the opportunity to meet Daniel Cook, and got completely lost. Gmajorette and Germanfriend helped get us pointed back in the right direction, but I was okay once we were on actual streets and not squiggly bike paths.
Why were we late? Well, imagine running a Terry Fox Marathon (in which one major highway artery is closed and most of the exits of another) a book fair and G-d knows what else all on the same day and expecting there not to be chaos? Does the city consider road closure conflicts when it organizes these things? Who knew we'd need 90 minutes to get downtown on a Sunday? So the one thing that she wanted to see, she missed because of chaos, crowds and closures, then a couple of nibbles of some $3 corn, a free poster talking about DEATH and the Underworld (at the Annick Press both) and we head back home, where we actually had fun, playing checkers.

As for Doctor Who, it originally started off as a children's show in 1963, but quickly became all about the monsters. Years later it's still straddling that line, but leaning more towards the grownup side of things, but it's still sort of mostly kinda considered for kids, although older kids. I wouldn't let Gminor watch it. She got one look at the Daleks and freaked.
