listersgirl: (misbehave)

Dude.

Possibly I should wait until I'm a little more coherent, but whatever. Three things:

1. I can't stop crying. I was fine in the theatre, but as soon as the lights came up, the tears started. I kind of can't deal. I was too verklempt to even go for drinks and post mortem after.

2. In all honesty, I didn't love the movie as much as I love the series -- it was too big damn hero action-centred for me to have the same reaction -- but I did love it, and seeing it in a theatre full of people enjoying themselves as much as I was was an awesome experience. Also, see number 1. God.

3. When the credits came up at the beginning, I was very surprised at the order people were credited, particularly with how high Alan Tudyk was, considering he barely appeared in the promos, and the story seemed River-centric. Now I know why. AUGH. Wash, you were always my favourite.

And one other thing: I'm very annoyed that we'll never know Book's story. I'd almost make peace with that after the show ended, and then my hopes were built up with the announcement of the movie, and then this. Boo!

Wait, one other other thing: The thing with having only one season of a show, and with my having watched it so many times, is that I have a very fixed image of the actors/characters in my brain, because they didn't change (physically) during that time. So it was slightly disconcerting to see the small differences from the past couple of years, especially how Jewel Staite and Adam Baldwin have both gotten skinnier. It's not a bad or good thing, it just took my mind a while to catch up with my eye.

Oh, fine, there are really too many things at this point: I loved some of the smaller bits -- the shots of River walking, everyone watching Mal and Inara try to have a conversation. And Jayne had the best lines.

In conclusion, THAT WAS AWESOME.
