Pardon me while I channel my mother for a moment, but how the hell* did it get to be October already? Where is the time going? I swear it goes faster the older I get. Sigh.

All of this being a lead-in to tell you that I failed miserably at my September resolution of brushing up my German, due to unexpected expenses and, well, laziness. And now it's October, and for October I told myself I'd learn how to flirt.

When do you make up these monthly goals? I think my October goal shall be to make more soup.

I made them all up at the beginning of the year - my theory was that New Year's resolutions fail because you're trying to do 15 things at once, so why not work on them one month at a time.

I think for 2005 I'll make them up each month instead, because I'm finding that some of them are badly timed. Like the German was for September.
