My gym soreness can last for many days - up to 4 - and my trainer says that's normal for some people. Especially in the huge and not often used muscle groups. (my thighs, man... oh my thighs...)
It does sound to me like you might have hurt a muscle, beyond the usual gym soreness. Especially the bit about how it doesn't hurt for a while and then it hurts quite sharply when you move. Couldn't hurt to have it checked out by a doctor...
If your breathing is impaired, see a doctor for sure- if you had internal bleeding you'd probably be very sick by now, and if it were your appendix or other innards, it'd be much lower down, and after this long, you'd be unable to stand for the pain.
